MEDICAL ADMINISTRATOR

  1. EVENT COACH 
  2. ATHLETIC DIRECTOR 
  3. ADMINISTRATOR ON DUTY

RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERSONNEL ON SITE

Emergency Plan:

Life threatening injury

  1. Coach will administer appropriate care to the injured athlete and notify EMS (911).

(Including but not limited to:  Determine level of consciousness, Check the Airway, Breathing, and Circulation (pulse), Access Medical Administrator by phone, Access EMS (911), Send for Automated External Defibrillator) 

  1. Coach will contact the Medical Administrator who will contact EMS if not already contacted.
  2. Parents/guardians will communicate with the coach or Medical Administrator and accompany the injured athlete in an ambulance. If a Parent/Guardian is not present a school official will accompany the athlete.

Non-life threatening injury

  1. Coach will administer appropriate care until a parent/guardian arrives. 
  2. Parent/guardian will be given instructions to the nearest healthcare facility. Hospital: Saint John Hospital (1717 S. Utica Ave.  Tulsa, OK 74104).
  3. If parents/guardians cannot be reached, EMS will be contacted (911). 

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE

Basic First Aid Kit (Locker Room and/or Sideline), Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)-See Map for AED Locations. 

AED:

Located in the Activity Center on the North East corner of the gym (See Map).

Severe Weather/Natural Disaster

All stands will be cleared by the Athletic Director or School Administrator. Spectators will not be allowed back until the all clear has been given Home/visiting teams will shelter inside.

High School Gymnasium: The AED is located through the North Entrance of the Gymnasium, enter into the gymnasium and the AED is to the immediate left on the wall (See map).

Activity Center: Located in the Activity Center on the North East corner of the gym (See Map).

Track:  Located in the Activity Center on the North East corner of the gym (See Map).

Severe Weather/Natural Disaster

Basketball/Activity Center: Everyone will remain in the gymnasium and shelter in place/or where instructed.

High School Track: All stands will be cleared by the Athletic Director or School Administrator. Spectators will not be allowed back until the all clear has been given. The Home team will shelter inside HS gym if time permits if time is an issue will shelter inside the football fieldhouse.
